Oh, I've had to wear business attire at a couple of facilities. It's the literal WORST. Getting dirt and dust on my nice clothes because I had to clean units? Was the dumbest thing. Now I can wear jeans (even capris) with a polo shirt with our logo. SO MUCH BETTER.

When I started here 4 years ago, we were required to wear Lands End Khaki pants and button up shirts with our logo. The pants don't fit well and my body isn't made for buttons, even though I'm quite small.

I made an executive decision to switch to jeans, so at least my pants fit well. I still have to wear button up shirts, though. And I HATE them. I am uncomfortable all day every day. My personal wardrobe doesn't include a single shirt with buttons!

Do you have to iron it too? Bummer-button ups are problematic over my chest, so I understand your hate.

I get the ones that are no iron. I DON'T iron!!! And the chest is the issue. But I can't really explain that to my male boss, so I just deal with it!

We wear work issued T Shirts with our company logo and jeans.

YEARS ago they used to buy unisex polo's!
I did NOT like them at all!
I would tell them I feel like Pat O'Neill Riley who is a character from Saturday Night Live!

The uniform shirts allow me to not think about my clothes as much. I can ruin a shirt and simply turn it in for another one (quarterly) which saves me money on having to buy new clothes. We have men's and women's styles and a few different cuts to select from that rotate quarterly. We can wear shorts, skirts (if you feel brave enough to try that), or pants/jeans/slacks.

We have collar shirts with our company logo and we can wear khakis, blue or black "slacks". I love the shirts because they're very lightweight and moisture wicking. We have casual Fridays where I can wear jeans, but if I ask to wear them a different day, my boss doesn't mind. However, I prefer to wear my khaki capris. Jeans are too "heavy" for summers in Texas and most of mine are ripped jeans anyway so I couldn't wear them here.

Just be clean, neat and OSHA appropriate. Also no bad language prints, rips, pj pants, etc. Usually that means a basic plain t-shirt and jeans in summer and a sweater and jeans in the winter. One co-worker likes his button downs and another likes his khakis. We don't wear anything branded, but no one has ever given us issues over it. We've talked about it, but if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'd probably get some magnetic name tags if it came down to it.

I get the button down dilemma though. The only places I ever found button tops that fit were Guess Factory. The sides were a stretchy fabric and it worked really well. However, we have enough creeps that I'd never wear a button down here if I can help it.

Loving this discussion. Often, those choosing the uniform don't take body types and comfort into consideration.

We don't really have a dress code & it's never really come up in discussion. As long as you are dressed to get your job accomplished, it is fine. I choose to wear jeans and a polo or tshirt most days. There are only 3 of us running the units/office and we all dress differently one guy wears jeans and a button down and the other seems to grab whatever is closest to him when he wakes up lol

I wear a branded shirt and usually khacki shorts. Our part time girl wears long pants but in FL I think it is too hot, so shorts it is. Any color shorts / pants is fine except no jeans. My husband, who does maintenance wears a branded moisture wicking shirt & shorts. If he is painting hallways / walls or doing something after hours he wears whatever is comfortable.

                          Tennis shoes and socks.

We go on Land's End and pick out what shirts we like and email it to our boss who will order it.

Always closed toe shoes (safety first), for every facility I've worked at. I've run the gamut of trying to find a good comfortable tennis shoe, including Nikes, Skechers, QVC, and have about 3 that I rotate through.

We have work polos with our name and logo, but.... almost all mine are so long on me, I wear them sometimes and sometimes my own clothes. They need to make polos shorter in length. I look decent at all times.
