  • OMG. This tenant.

I maintain people ruin it for everyone else.

Guy comes in, "Hi, I've hired movers. I need you to let me in the unit. I know I'm past due..."

Now, I hold up my hand because I KNOW, not even meeting him, who this loser is, "Sorry, you are not getting into this unit until I get full payment." He's the ex of the person who rented the unit-both were in 'lurve' when they rented but then she wised up and left the curly haired wiseass and his stuff. She's been paying because he keeps telling her that he's going to empty it out. Tenant, aka ex gf called me last week and said it's all his stuff and that he's got the code and key.

He stands in front of me and tells me to 'own my choice'.

I said, "Oh, I do, unless I get paid then you're not getting in."

He argues for a bit, asking me to 'believe that he'll pay in a couple of days'. No way, pal. I did NOT fall off of the turnip truck yesterday.

He realizes, finally, that I'm not budging so he allows a friend is loan him some money and that he'll venmo it to his account. Low and behold, I get paid and he gets his stuff.

Told you to "own your choice"? That is a riot.

"Believe that he'll pay in a couple of days", another LOL statement.

In this case I have no idea how he paid you except I would only accept cash payment. Period.

He paid with a debit card but I also had him sign a 'Credit card payment waiver' since he was in pre-lien. And he signed both stating he understood and paid of his free will.

All I could hear was your voice in my ear, "Mr. Entitled is in the house." Lol

The entitled are an infestation across the states and the world. My saying I use comes to mind in a situation like this, "At the end of this disagreement, who do you think is going to win"!

"Own your choice" that's a good one. LOL I don't even know what I'd say if a tenant ever said that to me. I'd probably bust out laughing.

A comeback, "If I say it I mean it". That is a choice I can own.

It is an entitled person's way of trying to make you feel bad about standing your ground on something. Like maybe, "Just remember, you will be judged by me and others for not showing any kind of compassion and letting me have something for nothing or not trusting me to keep my word". Even though they have already broken their word dozens of times. They want you to see how you will be judged by ANY words you say. Kind of like "ist" and "ism" words thrown at you for just disagreeing with someone and not understanding that they are WAY smarter than you and they know what is best for all mankind.

Different states have different laws. In CA, there is a legal form to be completed and notarized, or they must have the proper court documents. In the meantime, we overlock the space to ensure that no one gets access until we have the proper paperwork.

Just spent two nights on the outer edge of Kerrville at a Super 8. It was actually one of the nicer 8's we've stayed in. We did the three twisted sisters near there.
                            Love the entire area....

IMO, after seeing the certified death certificate and legal paperwork that gives her control of the mother-in-law unit belongings, she can have her name put on the unit and linked to her units. If you wish you can of course reference the mother-in-laws name somewhere on the unit.
