Received this email the other day.....

15 yr user of this software and ever since the new owners, i hate it.

Why in Gods name would they make this change?
What benefit does it provide the user ? i mean REALLY!

Currently, you click a payment link on my website, and goto a secure payment server...couple of clicks and done.
Its bad enough that this outfit strong-armed my company into moving our credit card processing to their own in house vendor.... (under the threat of losing online payment integration)...now im expected to move to a whole new THIRD company to handle my 'seamless' online payments and invoices?

I'm pretty peaved to say the least
Let us not forget multiple (annual) double digit subscription increases....
Or the fact that this same PE outfit runs a web competitor to all of us.
Or the fact that this PE co has purchased at least 3 software venders, in an attempt to kill our software choice/competition

Bottom line, If a company i do business with wants me to pay online.... fine. But im not going to sign up with a new and *proprietary* website or business just to see my invoices or make payments.
I'd probably skip the whole online bit, and just set up a monthly direct payment via my bank.
This new outfit seems like it'd be a great tempting target for hackers or data thieves. A solution for a problem that doesn't exist. To be honest, i guess that this versa pay is also owned by said PE company....

I am also a 15-yr user of the same software, but my perspective is a little different on this. Like you, a1storageguy, I was annoyed by the Versapay thing at first, but then realized it's pretty much Storable putting you on autopay just like you put your tenants on autopay. They are streamlining their business.
Since the takeover by Storable, things have definitely changed! Prices have gone up some, but the product is greatly improved. Integrated payments, websites and gate control systems have improved my operations significantly. I can change tenant rates immediately based on supply and demand, tenants rent online without my having to talk to them, and they make a payment at the gate and it allows them in right away. I am free to do whatever else as a result.
I am all for anything that is more efficient and that's what I see happening here. Just my 2 cents, but I do understand where you are coming from on this subject and hope you find something that works for you!
