  • Food - What's in a Name?

    Inspired this thread about a guy who wants to officially change the name of boneless chicken wings, what are foods deserve a different name? It'll be fun to do something other than worry about the world!

        When my husband and I owned and ran a chocolate and fudge store, we made a fudge called Dark Chocolate Fudge. Well of course we had the people who would comment and say "Oh I Hate Dark Chocolate". I would tell them that it tastes just like the fudge your grandmother used to make and they would try it. For 5 months we called it dark chocolate fudge. As soon as we changed the name to "Grandma's Secret", we could NOT keep it on the shelf. I was making 72# a week and selling out before i got the chance to make more!

        So there's a lot to be said for names!
        Would you eat "overprocessed pork meal with chicken"? It's called a hot dog.... :-)

              I have an old cookbook from the 20's I inherited from my mom and grandmother. I could, theoretically, make sweetbreads and Welsh rabbit, and aspic and if I had crocks I could make my own fruit alcohol. This book has it all!
              Even duct-tape can't fix stupid. But it can muffle the noises.

                  I love fried Spam and melted cheese with lettuce and tomato and lots of mayo. It is the perfect heart attack sandwich.

                          White chocolate!! I find it disgusting but to top it off...It's not really chocolate at all! Call it what you want, maybe white wanna-be chocolate or just white wax stuff.

                              I am not entirely sure what all those statements have to do with what I posted about masks. I absolutely agree that both political parties are using this for gain. As they say never let a good crisis go to waste....
