  • Greatest Movie of All Time

As we head into a summer of cinema, I thought this question might be fun: What's the greatest movie of all time?

I use the metric of 'what movie have I watched the most' and that's Independence Day.

    Edit-for theatrical excellence, 'Saving Private Ryan'.....Heck, I don't know

The Yellow Birds on Netflix looks like it could be worth a watch!

That's a tough one. I'm going with the The Godfather. No, wait, I meant Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Everybody has really great picks! It's so hard to choose from the the ones I really like. It's almost like trying to pick a favorite child.

I know it's cliché, but I'm going to go with Casablanca. I like it so much I purposely only watch it once a year or two. Very close second has got to be JJ Abrams first Star Trek from 2009. It was the last movie I watched with my mom and the opening scene made her cry, along with just about everyone else in the room.

For my mother, her favorite film was Places in the Heart. I got to say that movie holds up to this day as well.

Greatest I don't know, I think it depends on the genre and mood at the time.

A couple feel good ones are, Heart and Souls, and of course, the Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life.

Fried Green Tomatoes! I could watch that movie every week and not get tired of it.

There are sooo many....and for so many different reasons. Officer & a Gentleman, Top Gun, Shawshank Redemption, Sandlot, Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Toy Story, Good Will Hunting, The Color Purple, Stand by Me, Titanic, Wizard of Oz. I could go on and on lol

The Disney Aladdin with Robin Williams...best animated movie hands down. Fried Green Tomatoes makes me cry. Top Gun has a ton of good memories for me. The Abyss is the most underrated I think.

Though I do think al of these movies are good in their own right, I'm going to have to say Space Cowboys & Steel Magnolias,

I would vote for Major League with Brewster's Millions coming in a close second.
