    replied to Lien Letter question
When I charge my lien fee it represents real costs that I have been forced to pay out. That includes cutting off the lock to the unit, having two employees there for that process. Sending a certified notice, and publishing the sale in the local paper twice. In addition to that there are additional...

replied to Switching to Cylinder locks
I can say that I considered a switch from normal to cylinder locks. And I ultimately decided against it. I decided to go with higher quality cameras, and it has seemed to help so far. I am currently needing to replace old latches at my facilities due to rusting. At this point I am just doing the...

We no longer use one, I ask for a photo ID for most of it and have them verbally tell me other information, if it is an online reservation most of it is already entered. Tenants are showed all of their information on our screens and asked to verify it before they sign on the screen...

I already own a 1 ton with a 9'2" v plow and a bobcat with a hydralic straight blade and a snow bucket. I am just looking to supplement what I currently.have.

I want something to use to go around the facility at times besides my pickup, and I am interested in being able to get closer...

    Thinking of Buying a UTV

I am looking for recommendations form facilities that may have considered this in the past. I am looking at one with a dump box, and the ability to put a plow on the front. If you have purchased one or used one at your facility let me know what you liked or what you didn't like....

replied to SiteLink not supporting Outlook anymore
At times I forget I am our IT guy and changes like this are very easy for me. But that is not the case for everyone. I can just report that the way StorEdge is setup to work, that everything still shows up in on my end. I am sure at some point here soon someone from SiteLink will post here explaining...

Yes StorEdge was purchased by the same company that bought Site Link. I guess a more appropriate question for you is who do you use for email, and do they support imap ? I am not here to be in favor or against Site Link, but this is a minor change that likely won't effect your use of Outlook....

replied to SiteLink not supporting Outlook anymore
I use the Google Suite for my email services, which uses my domain. It is just $5 a month per account and includes other services as well.

I use what is called imap to mirror in outlook what I can see my logging into web mail.

I use StorEdge which may be different,...

replied to SiteLink not supporting Outlook anymore
This is a none issue for the most part, what it means is Site Link will no longer use the outlook application on your computer for sending messages. You will still be able to send and receive messages in outlook, you will still use the same email address. It is just that Site Link will interact via...

The answer is all of the above. Some units I give for free, some I give in exchange for advertising. Some we give a discount to. Some pay full price. It all depends on the group, what they want and for how long....

OK I am ready for winter to be over now. I've run out of places for snow, now I need to spend days moving piles. Or in one places case I need to have it moved off site. Ran out of ice melt after an ice storm last week, Just got another pallet of it delivered today, now need to catch up on old...

  • I am in Iowa and we retrofitted our climate controlled area and added heating and cooling after it was built. We went with Geothermal heating and cooling. We had a well onsite already so it made going this route a no brainier. Even when it was negative 50 last week I was able to control the temp....

    replied to Service Dog Allowed?
emotional support animals are a racket, as the above poster noted they require no training what so ever, and may even be a safety hazard for your customers. With that said I love dogs and have no issues with tenants bringing a well behaved dog into my office. But people need to maintain control of...

Storage units as silent auction gifts usually don't sell, I have tried several times. Storage is one of those things you get when you need it. Now if you want to give away locks as door prizes I have done that.

I also give units away to several none profit's I also donate to some as...

    replied to Website Domain
It never hurts to have some extra domain names as well. Long ago I secured my facilities names even before I had web sites. I have actually considered possibly selling some of the domains I don't primarily use. According to Godaddy www.allstorstorage.com and addaspacestorage.com would be worth a...

I found Yelp advertising to be a complete waste of Money, they did not provide one verifiable lead in the several months I tested out the service. We will stick with advertising dollars spent on google and facebook
