My customers write it out on the NCR paper contract they complete, then I enter it into the computer with them standing there. I read back to them their address and ask if it's missing an apartment or unit number as I input it. I also read outloud their phone number and email as I input it. I tell...

I'd try a different post office, or a different employee. I agree with MamaDuke, you comply with the information they provided you. It'll come back and you'll have proof you sent it to the address they gave you. It's on them, not on you to try to figure it out. I keep those, obviously unopened,...

More money in smaller units, provided that's where your demand is. You can always rent 2 smaller units to someone for the price of a larger one, but renting a larger unit for the price of a smaller one just to fill it is much more painful.
I'm near a large number of apartment dwellers,...Last edited by Storman; 30 May 2023, 02:07 PM.

The only automation I offer is me automatically taking your rent from your credit card every month.
That's all I need....

Jblake you also might want to reach out to Glen Gilmore are Envirocom. They refurbish and "harden" PTI components for the elements we put them through in outdoor environments. PTI sends them out to customers with new from parts off a shelf, not necessarily designed to be outdoors, but Envirocom...Last edited by Storman; 26 May 2023, 08:32 PM.

Oh my goodness. Sorry to hear Jblake, it would be a good idea for you to talk to somebody and work through what you saw. Not at all your fault or responsibility, don't bottle this up....

I agree with lady5563. Get the unit emptied and get back to the business you're in. If you get more than is owed, then you have the issue of keeping the overage for a period of time and trying to contact the tenant and let them know you have money for them.
If you consider the time it...

Yeah, that's a big no from me, dawg. He puts other people's items in storage and doesn't pay the bill. You notify him (the tenant) that you will be auctioning the items to pay the bill. He doesn't pay because he doesn't care, you sell someone's stuff.
By your arrangement, you had to have...

usually the 2nd form is a credit card in their name, matching the driver's license. I know it's not a 2nd form per se, but that's enough for me. It's the people with the sketchy first ID that I become a real stickler to. Knowing they can't provide a 2nd form or one that I'll accept is one way I...

I've had someone ask that in a roundabout way before, my reply was "then I charge you for the removal of the items and their disposal at a much higher rate than if you remove them yourself, and if you don't pay it I refer you to a collection agency that will hound you for what you owe me and in...

That's a sweet setup helenatim! I'm lucky that we built my office attached to my home and I do business from a dutch door. Nobody comes inside and although I'm "in the office" during office hours, I'm really just home puttering around my garage, yard, surfing the web and having lunch...

Look into Storage Commander too, I'm a relatively small 375 unit family run operation and I've been very pleased with their product and most importantly, they listen to me as a small player and I've seen updates and features added to their software based on my needs. It's been bulletproof in terms...
